Measurements for League Play Darts
Hi, this is Rich Buccola here in Astoria Queens at the world's famous Doyle's Corner and, on behalf of Expert Village, today we're going to show you how to throw some darts. To place the board properly, you want to have it so that the bullseye is sixty-eight inches from the floor, or five foot eight inches. But, the distance from your line to shooting the bullseye, the line you stand behind
is going to be seven feet nine inches and a quarter. That's your toe line. So, wherever your toe is, and wherever you're shooting, should be seven feet nine inches, nine and one quarter inch, away. Very important to know that. It's where your toe line is. Reiterating on why five foot eight is so important. You could have, for instance, that side you can go up five foot eight and come back to this side, and this floor isn't level. It has to be five eight from where you throw your dart. So, what I like to do, to make it easy, is I'll measure right here in front of me, five foot eight, and I'll make a mark on the wall like here. And then I'll take and go straight across with a straight edge, and make sure I have a level, and that will give you your mark. You go with a level and you mark your bullseye on that side. That will always give you a true five foot marking from the toe line, which is most important, and you won't have to worry about an unleveled floor.
